Antique French Dairy Bowl c. 1900
A lovely antique dairy bowl from France, c. 1900 . Also known as a "pancheon", these bowls were used throughout the 17th-19th centuries for multiple purposes in the kitchen, including standing milk (letting the cream rise to the top on fresh milk). Hand thrown and made from earthenware, with a glazed interior and a bare exterior. This one is in wonderful condition with a beautiful yellow glaze. It would make a great fruit bowl or bread bowl.
13.5" diameter; 5.75"h
Please note: antiques can (and often do!) come with dents, chips, cracks, stains, uneven coloring, and signs of their old age—small details that contribute to big character.
